NGK SPARK PLUG TO MAKE SPARKS FLY FOR THREE MORE YEARS WITH SCUDERIA FERRARI

NGK SPARK PLUG is excited to announce that its longstanding status as supplier of spark plugs and engineering support to Scuderia Ferrari has been extended for a further three years. The collaboration dates back to 1996 which means that the current 2022 season is the 27th consecutive one in which the world’s leading ignition and sensor specialist has sparked the engines of the iconic Italian team.

As Scuderia Ferrari Technical Partner, NGK SPARK PLUG is again providing Ferrari’s engineering team with advanced technical expertise and is continuing to supply tailor-made, high-performance ignition technologies demanded for each race car produced in Maranello.

Damien Germès, President & CEO of NGK SPARK PLUG EUROPE GmbH, Regional President EMEA and Corporate Officer of the Global Headquarters in Japan comments on the contract renewal: “It is an honour for NGK SPARK PLUG that our long relationship with Scuderia Ferrari has been further extended. Racing is the toughest test bench for future ignition developments, both on the track and the road.”

“The knowledge which we have gained through our participation in all varieties of racing, including Formula 1, has greatly benefited our Original Equipment and Aftermarket products. Precious metal and semi-surface spark plugs, for example, are just two of the technologies that first began in racing but now feature prominently on our OE and Aftermarket businesses, providing a range of driving and environmental advantages.”
